Bridging AI and Biology at Yale
Bridging AI and Biology at Yale is a six-event workshop series for Yale researchers who want to apply advanced AI approaches to biological and biomedical questions. The series will center on two linked themes:
Agentic AI for biology: AI agent and multi-agent systems that generate and execute code, use specialized biological tools and databases, and support reproducible research workflows.
Biological language and foundation models: How models of proteins, genomes, cells, and multimodal biological data are built and trained, fine-tuned, and investigated using interpretability methods.
Events will include an interactive research exchange, a paper discussion, methods workshop, an expert panel discussion, collaboration roundtable, and an invited talk. The exact sequence will depend on participant interests and speaker availability.
We welcome both experienced AI practitioners and researchers who are beginning to use these approaches. Prior AI expertise is not required, but participants should have a concrete current or planned project in which they want to actively use agentic AI or biological foundation models.
Space in the interactive cohort is limited. Please fill out this form to express interest in participating, but note that this does not confirm registration. If interest exceeds capacity, we will select participants to represent a range of Yale departments and programs, career stages, research areas, and AI experience levels.
Selected participants will receive the proposed dates before being asked to confirm their place and commit to attending at least four of the six events. Some talks may be open to the broader Yale community.
